Marcus and Sarah work closely together to produce furniture which is hand-made to fit the customers space and aesthetic. Marcus spent many years making pine furniture for his parent’s shop, WE AL FI on Harborne High Street in Birmingham. When Marcus’s Mother Wendy sadly passed away, and his father retired completely closing his business, Sarah & Marcus started up their own business in the Powys area of Wales keeping the name WE AL FI in memory of his mother. From time to time they still make furniture for the stalwart customer’s of Harborne.
As each year passes our experience in designing and making hand-made Kitchens, bedroom furniture, home office furniture and many other pieces is stretched and enhanced pushed into new areas. We are very adaptable to the design needs of our customers, and are able to offer traditional and classically styled furniture that will compliment and improve any home.
To finish a kitchen we work with a wide range of solid hard wood worksurfaces, and also work with a local stone company to provide high quality granite and composite stone worktops.
Our furniture is made from solid Quebec Yellow pine, which can be finished with a traditional light stain and wax polish, or hand painted in a colour of your choice.
As well as our fitted kitchens we also make freestanding furniture for many areas of the house, most popular being wardrobes and bookcases, along with chests of drawers, dressing tables, coffee tables, kitchen dressers blanket boxes and many others.
With the increasing numbers of people working from home we have found people require home office furniture built to accommodate pc’s and printers, with filing drawers and shelves set for reams of paper etc. Also very popular are filing cabinets; large shelved cupboards for storing files, with drawers on heavy duty runners below set for suspension files, all individually designed to suit the needs of the customer.
Should you wish to see the furniture for yourself, visits can be made by appointment to Sarah & Marcus’ home in Norton, where they often have finished furniture waiting to be delivered along with their own furniture, fitted kitchen and bathrooms. Alternatively on the first Saturday of each month we have a stand at the Presteigne Arts and Crafts Fair held at the Assembly Rooms in Presteigne from 10am-3pm (situated above the library).
